The Sun Also Rises AP Lit Essay Topics - Author Review

The Sun Also Rises AP Lit Essay Topics - Author ReviewYou may find The Sun Also Rises a challenging AP Lit essay topic, as the author explains in great detail of how and why the rising sun represents the source of good and evil. I found that one of the benefits of this book is the extensive language and ideas to absorb in addition to the rigor of the topics the author sets out for you to master. I like the author's 'method' of explaining why it makes sense to teach the perspective of the rising sun.I will let the book do the talking. I will just discuss some of the topics covered in this book, as they made sense to me. Although I did find the book tedious, the writer had good intentions. I agree with her view that students need a certain amount of instruction before they can understand a subject. There are a number of places where the author gives reasoning to support her views. One example of this is her views on teaching religious studies. She supports her belief in this by explaini ng that teachers must first learn about the various religions. Next, students must be able to study them. Finally, the students must be able to explain them to others. She agrees with the traditional education theories that religion should only be taught when it pertains to the Hinduism concept. There are many instances in history that were used to rationalize the Hinduism view of the world. So, when she encourages you to teach students from other religions, the idea is to teach them about the different views on the world, so that students can get an understanding of others views of the world. The views that I found from the author's thoughts seemed strong, though they didn't make me feel right about teaching them. I wouldn't criticize the author, because it's her right to believe and talk about her beliefs, as an individual, and not as a teacher. I am certain that other teachers of AP Lit will disagree with the views of this author. We all have to start somewhere. The reader has the o pportunity to explore her views on the political and social debate surrounding the book. One of the topics I found I liked was teaching the concept of the free market. The author does well at outlining the economics of her book, as well as her views on what constitutes the free market. Some of her thoughts are very philosophical and teach students to analyze and evaluate their own assumptions. One of the great aspects of the book was the mix of different perspectives and explanations. One of the more interesting points was comparing the rising sun with Jesus. The author makes it clear that she is not supporting the theory of the virgin birth of Jesus, but rather making an observation. As a complete review, I found that The Sun Also Rises makes sense in presenting the student with a wide array of viewpoints. However, the author also proposes different ways of looking at what is presented in the book.
